C4B & C4F

Cables! I love a good squishy cable and am happy to hear you’re here to learn how to knit a basic 4 stitch cable. In this tutorial, I demonstrate how to knit C4B (cable 4 back) and C4F (cable 4 front) cables.

C4B and C4F are frequently written as:

C4B: Slip 2 sts onto cable needle and hold to back, knit 2 from left hand needle, knit 2 from cable needle

C4F: Slip 2 sts onto cable needle and hold to front, knit 2 from left hand needle, knit 2 from cable needle

The pattern for this particular cable is:

Row 1 (RS): k4

Row 2 (WS): p4

Row 3: C4B or C4F

Row 4: p4

Repeat rounds 1-4
